Nick Coffelt
Director of Engineering
With original aspirations of becoming an Aerospace Engineer, Nick realized quickly into his first few courses his passion for building and “getting your hands dirty”. He decided on changing his degree from Aerospace to Civil Engineering to work with structures. Nick graduated Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 2003 where he almost immediately landed a junior position with EFCO in 2004. Nick fell into concrete and shoring, it was not his expected career path. He fell in love with the fast pace of the projects, the complexity of the engineering and the shear number of projects he was able to work on. Nick spent 13 years at EFCO where he honed not only his technical skills but actively began developing his people skills. He enjoyed the ability he had at mid management to develop and mentor his staff. In 2017 a position with Aluma for the Director of Engineering opened. Nick jumped at the opportunity to work at upper level management. He wanted to start making a difference to the policies, procedures and processes that would affect and develop the staff on individual and large scales. Today Nick is managing all North America overseeing 78 people in 4 teams divided across his territory. Aluma is a long-standing reputable company but has also been flexible and adaptable enough to incorporate changes implemented by Nick over the years.
