Congrats to Amico Affiliates for joining the NextGen Professional community. Upon signing up Amico instantly received access to several high potential, fresh candidates and chose a recent graduate backed with an Advanced Project Management Diploma and a Civil Engineering Degree to place at their Mid Rise Development project in St.Thomas Ontario.

With offices in Cambridge, Vaughan and Windsor, Ontario, Amico has built institutional, commercial, industrial and residential projects across Ontario as a General Contractor. Amico is also a key partner in public infrastructure projects (P3) including rail, highways and hospitals across Ontario. With over 30 years of construction experience, Amico has completed over 2400 projects in the Province of Ontario covering over eight (8) million SF of area.  Some highlights of Amico’s track record include in residential, commercial, education and medical Design-Build buildings, an ever growing portfolio of over $400M in retirement homes built throughout the province since 2005, and the successful delivery of major road and highway projects for the Government of Ontario and other municipalities across the province.

With over 400 employees, Amico is an experienced team of Engineers, Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Labourers, Operators and support staff with the expertise, on-the-ground knowledge and capacity to successfully deliver complex projects.

Noah Benko

Engineer-in-Training, Amico Engineering

Noah graduated from the University of Windsor’s Civil Engineering program with Honours in 2017 and has since been involved in some of Amico’s largest infrastructure projects, including: the Gordie Howe International Bridge Early Works; MTO Highway 40 Road Reconstruction; and Forest Trail Estates Subdivision project(s). Currently engaged in the Professional Engineers of Ontario’s Engineering Intern Program, Noah works directly under Amico’s Senior Engineer, with his work focusing on: Sewer and Roadway Design; Site Servicing Drawings, Stormwater Analysis, Project Co-ordination, and engagement with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Essex Region Conservation Authority, and Ontario Clean Water Association on multiple project files.

Richard Nielsen

Construction Health & Safety Officer (CHSO), Project Manager, Amico Design Build Inc.

Richard graduated from the Humber Institute of Technology’s Industrial Design program in 2006 and has since worked on many high-profile projects for various public and private clients. As a Project Manager for Amico’s vertical construction division since 2014, Richard is ultimately responsible for meeting and coordinating with all construction personnel, collaborating with design consultants and reporting to senior level management on the progress and development of the buildings. Some highlights of his work experience include the 85,000 SF Barrie Primary Care Campus; and several facilities for Seasons Retirement Communities, located across southwestern Ontario.

Ryan Capogna

General Manager, Amico Infrastructures Inc

Since graduating from the University of Western Ontario’s Civil Engineering program with a Bachelor of Engineering Science in 2007, Ryan’s desire to undertake more of a leadership role within Amico has seen him rise from Jr. Project Manager to his current role as General Manager of Amico’s Infrastructure division. As a Project Manager and Engineer in Training with Amico, Ryan has directly managed and overseen a wide variety of heavy civil infrastructure projects from sewer and site servicing work to large-scale, complex road and bridge building projects. Some highlights of his work experience include the high-profile Right Honourable Herb Gray Parkway; Gordie Howe International Bridge Early Works; and Gosfield Wind Turbine Power Generation project(s).

Tony Youssef

P. Eng., Technical Services Manager, Amico Infrastructures Inc

Having graduated from the University of Windsor’s Civil Engineering program in 2013, Tony, who started his professional career as a Field Inspector, is now the Technical Services Manager for Amico’s heavy civil division. A practicing Professional Engineer since 2017, Mr. Youssef’s fields of specialization and responsibilities at Amico include: utilizing latest technologies in 3D modelling to provide full digital instructions to field construction equipment; and Engineering design for civil projects including roads and highways, parking lots, utilities and site services. Some highlights of Tony’s work experience include the Gordie Howe International Bridge Early Works; and several full road reconstruction and watermain project(s).

The Right Honourable Herb Gray Parkway: Windsor, ON 

Delivered by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO), the $1.4B Parkway was a once in a generation, major infrastructure project located in Windsor, ON involving over 11 kms of 4-6 lane highway construction. As the major civil subcontractor on the Project, Amico’s scope of work included: Excavation and Grading; Bridge Demolition; Road Building; Utilities Installation and Relocation; Drainage and Hydrology Engineering; Structure Building; and Landscaping.  Drawing from local Ontario Universities, Amico provided +36,000 man-hours for local Ontario students and recent first-time workers aiding in the development of the industry and the further enhancement of Ontario’s future labour force.

The University of Windsor Science, Research and Innovation Facility: Windsor, ON

Amico was the design-builder, site-works and structural concrete contractor for the three-storey, 48,859 SF above grade building. The new, $30M facility is a crystalline showcase for flexible, functional and innovative research at the University. Visible from the campus to the east and the Ambassador Bridge to the west, the building appears as a floating beacon of the creativity and innovation happening within with floor-to-ceiling glazing providing direct views into meeting and research spaces. The collaborative relationship developed between Amico and the University over the years is a testament to the importance our company places on working with and in the communities, we live in.

42 Mill St. Upscale Condominium Development: Georgetown, ON

42 Mill St is a boutique 78-unit luxury mid-rise building located in the heart of Uptown Georgetown, ON. Utilizing spacious open-concept floorplans, custom built European kitchens with integrated appliances and exclusive access to electric car charging stations within the building, homebuyers have chosen between 1-3 bedrooms units ranging from 850 SF to 1900 SF. The development is currently under construction.
