What to do when meeting a client for the first time? Small talk or no? There is no certain answer. You just have to judge the situation and of course the person. Some people like casual chatter before getting down to business, so roll with it. Get to know them and build the relationship. However, others just want to shake your hand and get down to it.
It's a balancing act of reading the person in front of you - being friendly and approachable to open up the dialogue - but also not coming across as overly keen and salesy. Be authentic and honest. Trust in your product or your services and just be yourself! Don't try too hard people will see through it.
